It's NaPoWriMo 2022! Yay! I'm so excited!
So excited to get started on this month of poetry that I'm getting in on the early bird prompt. Today's prompt is based on a line from Emily Dickenson's poetry. The line I used is "Forever might be short" because it made me think of someone dear to me, so I wrote this poem for and about them. Enjoy!
Forever Might Be Short
Spending the day together
A day with a man I love
In each other's presence
Just hanging out
Not doing much
Yet it feels like so much
Forever with you.
Playing our card game
Building new decks
Sharing music and movies
And stories from our lives.
Our time alone together may be short
But my love for you is not.
